Pivot Door Frame

This piece needed to meet the demands of contrasting desires. Functionally, the door and frame needed to act as a window more than a partition yet when meetings were in session all sound had to be contained. This was ultimately achieved through material selection: 1/2 in plate glass suspended in foam tape to dampen sound and a minimal profile width of 1 inch.

Aesthetically, it needed to be sleek and minimal yet not lack character. This was achieved by constructing the door and frame with a 1-inch wide by a 3-inch deep material, visually presenting a thin frame yet when handled the presence and weight of the door are apparent.
